The open-air hangar at dusk set for a wedding reception, white drapes and long tables, pines and mountains around it

A multi-day wedding venue in Montana

Most weddings are over by midnight, but here the celebration gets to breathe, with your people sleeping in the log cabins, waking up by the river, and sharing a few more slow, golden hours with you before anyone has to say goodbye.

  • 2 or 3days on the ranch
  • 14sleep in the three cabins
  • 200guests at most
  • Exclusiveuse, no other groups

What does a multi-day wedding at Alta Ranch include?

Two packages turn the wedding into a weekend. Mountain Escape is two days with one night in all three cabins, for $6,500, and it's our most booked package. Montana Legacy is three days with two nights in all three cabins, for $8,500, with room for a welcome gathering, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception and farewell brunch.

Both are exclusive use for up to 200 guests, so the whole ranch, the hangar and every ceremony site belong to you and your people for the entire weekend, with nobody else on the land.

How a wedding weekend usually goes

  • Friday afternoon: everyone arrives. Bags go into the cabins, hugs happen in the driveway, and someone slips down to the river with a fly rod.
  • Saturday morning: a quiet morning, coffee on the table, and getting ready with the people you love around you.
  • Saturday afternoon: vows in the spot you chose, the meadow, the river or the pines.
  • Saturday night: dinner under the hangar lights, then dance the night away.
  • Sunday morning: a farewell brunch and one more look at the valley before everyone heads home.

Two days or three?

If most of your guests are flying in, three days is worth every minute. The people who traveled for you get a real Montana trip, the rehearsal dinner and the farewell brunch each have room to shine, and the wedding day itself never feels rushed. Montana Legacy gives you exactly that, with two nights in all three cabins.

If your crowd is closer to home, or you'd love one big, joyful night followed by a slow morning together, Mountain Escape gives you the wedding day plus a night in the cabins for the people closest to you.

What guests do between events

Plenty, and nobody has to plan a thing. Your guests can fly fish the West Fork for native Westslope cutthroat with private access, paddle the trout pond in the canoe, row boat or paddle boat, wander trails out to the edge of the national forest, and gather around the campfire rings as the evenings cool. Hiking, horseback riding and white-water rafting are close by in the valley for anyone who wants a little more adventure.
