What we collect on altaranch.com, why, and how to ask us about it. Last updated October 2026.

When you send an inquiry

The form asks for your name, email, and the details of what you are planning, such as your date, guest count and package interest. Your phone number is optional. We also ask how you heard about us. Your answers go to our family so we can reply, and we keep a record of them in our own inquiries database and in a family spreadsheet. Your message is emailed to us through Resend, and we send you a short confirmation the same way. We use a Cloudflare spam check on the form.

Meta Pixel and ad measurement

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and this site uses the Meta Pixel to measure how those ads do. The Pixel runs on every page. It lets Meta see that a visit happened and which page, when someone taps our phone number or email link, and when an inquiry is sent. It uses cookies from Meta to do this.

When you send an inquiry, our server also tells Meta about it directly, using Meta's Conversions API. That message includes your email address and phone number (if you gave one), scrambled with a one-way code (hashing) so Meta can match them to its own accounts without us sending them in readable form. It does not include what you wrote in your message. Meta uses this to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who may be interested. Meta's own policies apply to the data it receives; you can manage your ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings.

Site analytics

To learn which pages are useful and where the site could be clearer, we use three analytics tools. Google Analytics counts visits, shows which pages people read and how they found us (a search, an ad, another website), and notes when someone taps our phone number or sends an inquiry. Microsoft Clarity shows us where people click and how far they scroll, and records anonymous replays of visits so we can spot pages that confuse people. Clarity hides what you type into the inquiry form. Cloudflare Web Analytics gives us simple visit counts without cookies. Google Analytics and Clarity use their own cookies, and Google's and Microsoft's own policies apply to the data they receive. None of these tools receive your name, email or message.

Where you came from

If you arrive from one of our ads or links, the address may carry tags such as the campaign name. We keep those in your browser for up to 30 days and save them with your inquiry, so we know which ad brought you.

Your choices

You can block the Pixel and the analytics tools with your browser's tracking settings or an ad blocker, and the site and form still work. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it removed, email [email protected] or call (406) 349-2142.
